The Sioux City Community Theatre Youth Theatre Program is excited to announce auditions for Disney's The Lion King Jr.!
We are casting students in 5th–12th grade and invite performers of all experience levels to audition. Whether you've been on stage for years or this is your very first audition, we'd love to meet you!
What to Prepare
Prepare a song of your choice to sing (approximately 30–60 seconds) - you may use a phone speaker to sing along with! Please no a capella.
Participants will also read from the script in small groups during auditions.
Show Dates: October 8th-11th, 2026.
No previous theatre experience is required—just bring your enthusiasm, creativity, and a willingness to have fun!

Join the Western Iowa Tech Community Choir. Vocal Music Instructor and Director of Choral Activities, William Darwin, Jr., will be leading the choir on Tuesday nights. Every level of singer is welcome. The choir will perform at least once a semester. Singing in a choir is incredible for your well-being. Numerous studies show it can relieve stress, boost the immune system, and build a sense of belonging. Join the WITCC community choir to create lovely harmony in your life.

Travel back in time with Emmy Award winning songwriter Jack Norton for a concert of old-time blues and good-time folk music. Oddball ukulele legend Tiny Tim hailed Norton as “the greatest entertainer I have ever seen!” The Minneapolis Star Tribune called Jack “one of the most entertaining acoustic musicians in the Midwest.” His performances are an authentic throwback to a simpler time and bygone era.

Laugh For Good: Children's Miracle Network
Siouxland Comedy is back with another Laugh For Good — a night of stand-up that gives back to our community.

This show benefits Children's Miracle Network at our local hospital. Every ticket you buy and every dollar of free will donation goes directly to support kids and families receiving care right here in Siouxland.

Headlining: Jacob Womack
Jacob Womack has been entertaining audiences for nearly fifteen years. In 2025, he won "Funniest Comic in Sioux Falls" and "Best Stand-up Comic" at the Sioux Falls Stage Awards — then came back the following year to host the Stage Awards himself. Beyond stand-up, Jacob performs with two improv companies in the Sioux Falls area, works as a DJ and MC, and is a two-time national champion in public speaking. He also played the title role in the 2017 short film "Duffy's Jacket" alongside character actor Doug Jones. His comedy is personal and honest, exploring life as an adult with autism, a teacher, and an entertainer still figuring out what "be yourself" really means.

Featuring: Drew Jr
Drew Junior started his comedy career in 2000 and has taken his clean, quick-witted humor from Minneapolis to Las Vegas and now Sioux City. He's opened for names like Louie Anderson and Nick Swardson. As a Christian comedian, Drew brings joy, connection, and just the right amount of wholesome chaos — his shows are family-friendly, uplifting, and guaranteed to leave your cheeks sore from laughing.

The 2026 Hubbard Hoot Owl Days celebration will take place August 28–30, 2026 and will feature activities for all ages, including a parade, vendor fair, 5K Color Run, live entertainment, children's activities, a brisket and corn feed, car show, cornhole tournament, silent and live auctions, poker run, beer garden, and numerous family-friendly attractions.

Join the League of Women Voters of Sioux City for an afternoon of connection, conversation, and civic engagement!

Whether you’re already a League member or simply interested in learning more, this event is a great opportunity to meet others who are passionate about strengthening our community and discover how you can get involved with the League of Women Voters of Sioux City.

We’ll also hear from Common Good Iowa, who will provide an overview of the Iowa constitutional amendment that will appear on the November ballot. You’ll leave with a better understanding of the amendment and feel informed and empowered as you head to the polls this fall.

Everyone is welcome! Bring a friend, ask questions, meet fellow community members, and learn how we can work together to protect and strengthen our democracy.

On Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 2:00pm in the auditorium of the Betty Strong Encounter Center Sisters from the Outlaw Trail, Teresa Kay Orr and Marci Broyhill, will share western heritage with their program, “Working the Land.” Admission is free, but freewill donations are encouraged.

This duo will highlight through story, song, and PowerPoint the men and women whose labors impacted our nation and our current lives. Teresa and Marci encourage you to, “Come find a chair and give your boots a rest. It is time to hear stories and music of the American West.”

Teresa’s original songs in her latest CD, Ladies and Outlaws, have been on the western music charts. Marci’s original stories have been compiled into a book, Nebraska’s Outlaw Trails: Facts, Legends & Lore
