Join us at the National Music Museum to enjoy a melodic performance by Mariachi Los Caballeros. Established in 2013 in Omaha, Nebraska, Mariachi Los Caballeros' musical journey has extended far beyond the Midwest. They have had the privilege of sharing their melodies in various parts of the U.S, as well as with audiences in Mexico and Puerto Rico. Mariachi Los Caballeros' versatility is a hallmark of their performances, as they seamlessly transition between English and Spanish, ensuring a rich and inclusive musical experience for all.

Celebrate Native American Heritage Month at the National Music Museum's November Discovery Saturday! NMM educator Anna Van Kley will present short spotlight talks at 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 p.m., featuring three recently acquired Native American instruments on temporary display in the Janet L. Wanzek Performance Hall.

Discover the traditions and craftsmanship behind a Pueblo drum made by Thomas Herrera (Cochiti Pueblo), along with a water drum and horn rattle crafted by Tahatie Montour (Kahnawake Mohawk / Turtle Clan). Learn about the cultural significance of these instruments and the generations of knowledge passed down through their makers.

These instruments are among several contemporary Native American instruments acquired by the NMM through multi-year grant support from the Clayton & Odessa Lang Ofstad Foundation, Bank of America, N.A., Co-Trustee.

Throughout November, visitors can also explore additional instruments acquired through this support, along with other Indigenous instruments on display in the museum's permanent galleries.

All Discovery Saturday activities are included with museum admission. Discovery Saturdays take place on the first Saturday of each month, offering special programs and experiences for visitors of all ages.

Imagine that it’s Thanksgiving Day. The whole family has just eaten the feast of all feasts and somebody asks “Did anyone bring dessert?” You jump out of your seat and, with a great big smile on your face, proclaim “I brought homemade pie!” You are greeted with resounding silence, until… they take their first bite of the best homemade pie ever! Join us at the National Music Museum for a special evening of music featuring cellist Juan Guillermo Mireles Morales and pianist Dr. Yu-Han Kuan, performing works by Ludwig van Beethoven and Robert Schumann.

The concert will feature instruments from the NMM's Cancelosi collection of playable instruments, including a cello by the Gagliano brothers and bow by Joseph Alfred Lamy. Kuan will be performing on the NMM’s Mason & Hamlin grand piano (NMM15722).

Morales is currently a graduate student at the National Music Museum, pursuing a Master of Music degree with a specialization in the History of Musical Instruments at the University of South Dakota. His research explores the playability and acoustical properties of bowed string instruments, bringing together his interests in music, acoustics, and science.

An accomplished chamber and orchestral musician, Mireles Morales has performed throughout the United States and Europe and formerly played with the National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico.

One of the world's great violinists comes to Sioux City. Grammy Award winner James Ehnes brings his famously pure tone to Beethoven's radiant Violin Concerto, on a night that opens with Anna Clyne's Woman of the Mountain — a world premiere co-commissioned by your Symphony — and closes with the Eroica, the symphony that broke every rule of its time and still sounds like a revolution.

On November 15, 2026, at 2:00pm, join us at the Betty Strong Encounter Center as we host singer, songwriter, speaker, and author Jill Miller. Admission is free, but freewill donations are encouraged.

She will be showcasing songs from her latest CD, Run Towards Love, as well as performing classic country songs you will know and love. She will also be debuting some brand-new, hot-off-the-press recently penned songs she can't wait to share with you about life, love and faith.
There will also be some patriotic tunes thrown in as well in honor of our nation's 250th anniversary.

Since making music her full-time career, Jill has recorded six albums in Nashville. She collaborated with Denny Hemingson (the steel player for Tim McGraw,) the drummer from Rascal Flatts, and the lead guitar player for Garth Brooks, along with many others. Come and enjoy her wonderful music.

When you were in elementary school you were free to let your imagination take you anywhere. Trees could be orange, birds could have curly hair, and the sun really could have a smiley face! This day is about letting yourself be that child again and create. What will you create? Just wait and see…

Join the Western Iowa Tech Community Choir. Vocal Music Instructor and Director of Choral Activities, William Darwin, Jr., will be leading the choir on Tuesday nights. Every level of singer is welcome. The choir will perform at least once a semester. Singing in a choir is incredible for your well-being. Numerous studies show it can relieve stress, boost the immune system, and build a sense of belonging. Join the WITCC community choir to create lovely harmony in your life.
